Welfare

Welfare is at the core of the Royal Air Forces Association. As a member-led welfare charity  everyone in the organisation from fundraiser to member to welfare officer or case worker is a part of the welfare chain.

RAFA Chingford Branch, working in conjunction with RAFA HQ offers a  local  point of contact for veterans and their dependents who seek access to specialist advisory, advocacy and information services and practical support that addresses  all aspects of welfare and health.

RAFA Chingford offers the support and guidance of a trained, experienced  volunteer Welfare Officer who is a member of the Branch Governing Committee.

In recent years during the challenges of Covid and lockdown RAFA Chingford has facilitated zoom calls to the isolated, sourced  books and aviation-related items for  the elderly, delivery of  birthday cake to a local care home and organised  a visit by serving RAF personnel to a local world war 2 veteran.

RAFA Chingford strives to offer support to veterans of all conflicts, from World War2  through the Cold War to more recent  Middle Eastern Conflicts.
